From Faith in Public Life (http://www.faithinpubliclife.org):
After 3 years of living in sanctuary to resist a deportation order, Edith Espinal is back in her Columbus home with her family. Today she has her first check in with ICE. Today also marks the ninth anniversary of the DACA program. Edith’s return home and DACA’s perseverance is thanks to the tireless advocacy of the immigrant and faith community. But we demand more. DACA recipients, Edith and millions of others need a pathway to citizenship now.
Join us in this fight by adding your name to our petition at https://fpl.actionkit.com/sign/provide-citizenship-immigrants calling for Congress to pass pathways to citizenship for all immigrants.
As Congress debates how to recover from this pandemic, we must tell them that there is no Holy Recovery without citizenship for immigrant communities.
As faith leaders, we have the moral responsibility to demand citizenship for DACA recipients, TPS holders, essential workers, and all immigrants. The House has already passed two critical pieces of legislation with a bipartisan vote, the Dream and Promise Act and the Farm Workforce Modernization Act. Today, the Senate is holding a hearing to discuss the Dream and Promise Act and we cannot let this moment pass without putting our faith into action!
