This Saturday marks one of the most hateful acts from President Trump: the Muslim Ban. Throughout the past year we’ve spoken to those affected by this ban and we continue to stand with Muslim communities and say #NoMuslimBanEver.
The Muslim ban continues to cause turmoil for families who are separated from their loved ones, for students unsure of their futures, and for those fleeing oppression who are prevented from reaching safety. Thousands of civilians with previously approved visas have been turned away for no reason other than the country where they were born or the way they choose to pray.
President Trump has recently characterized those who show up at our borders as coming from “s*#thole countries.” Show President Trump that you oppose his blatant racism by welcoming refugees now at https://act.amnestyusa.org/page/14304/action/1.
As an ally for this movement, we cannot let any iteration of a Muslim or refugee ban stand. A ban in any form is senseless and discriminatory, putting thousands of people in danger. Many refugees have fled from violence, torture and persecution in their home countries. As survivors, they are some of the lucky ones. Many have been attacked or abducted on their dangerous journey to a safer life.

Instead of turning our back on refugees, we need to stand together to say, “I Welcome.” This year we will continue to organize a strong mass mobilization that sends a clear message to our elected leaders: we are allies in this movement and stand up with Muslim and refugee communities all across the country.
