Sign GreenFaith Moral Standards for Climate Finance

From GreenFaith (http://greenfaith.org):

Banks and asset managers everywhere are funding climate change by pouring millions into destructive and unsustainable industries. That’s why we’re demanding that shareholders stop funding any new fossil fuel projects in 2022 and beyond.

Sign the GreenFaith moral standards for climate finance at https://actionnetwork.org/forms/affirmation-of-climate-finance-moral-standards-for-asset-managers. Tell the world’s asset managers: people & planet first!

We’re not just making demands– we’re taking bold action, rooted in our strong faith values.

Last week in Charlotte, NC, Sharon Lavigne, founder of faith group Rise St. James, joined the GreenFaith Charlotte Circle and other groups at Bank of America–one of the leading funders of Formosa Plastics–to speak against the proposed Formosa Plastics “Sunshine Project”.

If built, this plastics factory would release toxic pollution and greenhouse gas emissions in her community. “Formosa will be a death sentence for our community. We’re asking Bank of America to put people over profits,” said Lavigne.

As part of this effort, GreenFaith members along with partners, delivered letters to the homes of bank executives and petitions to the Bank of America headquarters signed by over 150,000 people.

Together, our faith can move mountains–and financial institutions!

Now, we want you to add your voice to the demand for ethical climate finance. Sign the moral standards for asset managers and tell finance institutions to put people and planet over profits.
