From the Alaska Wilderness League (http://www.alaskawild.org):
Recently the New York Times exposed this administration’s corrupt tactics to justify drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. One brazen example: Instead of generating the projected $1.8 billion in revenue originally touted by the White House, the Times found that drilling in the Arctic Refuge coastal plain may only yield $45 million over the next decade.
It appears that in their quest for more drilling, the administration deleted and suppressed scientific findings, misled the public about potential revenue and oil prospects, failed to consult with tribes and made other scandalous decisions behind the backs of the American public.(1)

Like you, many members of Congress have already seen through the lies. When they return in September, the House will vote on H.R. 1146, legislation to restore protections to the Arctic Refuge and prevent oil drilling where caribou and polar bears raise their young. Make sure the first thing they see is an inbox full of pleas to protect the Arctic Refuge!
Say “No!” to more drilling, especially in places as wild as the Arctic Refuge.
Take action today and urge Representative Perry to vote in favor of H.R. 1146 when it comes to the House floor. Even if your member has previously expressed support for the Arctic Refuge, make sure they know you are cheering them on!
