From the Clean Air Council (http://www.cleanair.org/):
Air pollution from natural gas operations is putting us in danger – it’s putting our health at risk every day and accelerating climate change.
To make matters worse, standards that are already in place to reduce this air pollution are in danger of being rolled back at the federal level. Low-cost fixes already exist that could eliminate up to half of the air pollution emitted by our country’s oil and gas industry every year, but polluters are dragging their feet. This is unacceptable.
Tell Senator Toomey you support protecting American families from oil and gas air pollution at http://salsa4.salsalabs.com/o/51176/p/dia/action3/common/public/?action_KEY=20452.
Every year, children across the country experience 750,000 summertime asthma attacks due to smog caused by oil and gas infrastructure. In the last few years, we’ve made great strides toward addressing the serious threat that this air pollution poses to American communities. For the sake of our health and future, we can’t afford to go backward. Rolling back standards for oil and gas air pollution would devastate our ability to ensure a healthy future for our communities and children and fight climate change.
ACT NOW: We can’t let polluters off the hook for air pollution.
The protections under attack improve air quality, limit toxic chemicals linked to higher risks of cancer, and curb climate pollution. Rolling back these standards means rolling back a healthy future for our country.
Tell Senator Toomey that you care about a healthy future for your family – and he should too.
Thank you for speaking out.
