From Pre-K for PA (http://www.prekforpa.org/):
Access to high-quality pre-k is a fundamental building block of our state’s education system. Unfortunately, even with recent increases in state funding, more than 106,200 or 61% of eligible children who qualify for high-quality, publicly funded pre-k remain unserved.
Pre-K Works, So Why Not PA?
Governor Wolf’s budget proposes another step to expand pre-k access to an additional 4,400 children next school year. We know you will join us in convincing the legislature this is a wise investment but before you act…you probably would like to know the availability of pre-k in your community.
We’re proud to share with you our updated mapping tool that tracks the availability of high-quality pre-k across the state. We first created this resource in 2016, as a partner in the Pre-K for PA Campaign, to help all Pennsylvanians learn more about this vital early learning experience in their local area.
Use the map to see the number of children served, unmet need, the number of high-quality providers and current capacity by House or Senate district, or by school district or county.
Not sure where your legislative district or school district is? No problem! Use the search functionality on each map to find them. And, stay tuned to learn more about how you can help PPC and the Pre-K for PA Campaign make the promise of pre-k a reality for more at-risk children.
