Tell Your Representative—Protect Our Drinking Water by Phasing Out PFAS

Across the country, hundreds of communities have had their drinking water contaminated with toxic chemicals known as PFAS.¹

This week, Congress will vote on legislation that would permanently curb a major source of this PFAS contamination: firefighting foams used by the military.

So far, the military has confirmed that PFAS have contaminated the groundwater of at least 126 military bases.²

Research links these “forever chemicals” to several kinds of cancers, immune system disorders and infertility.³

The Pentagon exacerbates this problem every day by continuing to use hazardous PFAS foams — even though safer alternatives already exist.

We know that we can win on this issue — the Senate has already ordered the military to phase out these toxic chemicals. Now we need to win this week’s vote in the House.

Tell Congress to protect our drinking water by “turning off the tap” on PFAS at military bases.
