From Faith in Public Life (http://www.faithinpubliclife.org):
Our faith teaches that all people are created equal by God and must be treated equally under the law. Thankfully, the Supreme Court’s ruling today against LGBTQ workplace discrimination brought us one step closer to this moral vision. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the nationwide protests proclaiming that Black Lives Matter, this victory shows what can happen when we come together for justice and equality.
Now is the time to end discrimination in all areas of life, for all people. There are still major gaps in our federal laws that allow discrimination against LGBTQ people in housing, health care, public accommodations and many other areas. Tell Congress and state lawmakers to pass comprehensive non-discrimination laws to ensure the dignity of the LGBTQ community is fully recognized at http://fpl.actionkit.com/sign/title-vii-win-ffaa/. People of faith have helped advance LGBTQ protections through boldly declaring that our faith does not discriminate. We must continue to speak out.
These are trying times, but moments like this help us maintain hope.
As an act of hope, please join in calling on Congress to fully protect LGBTQ people from discrimination by passing comprehensive non-discrimination protections. By doing this, we are truly living out our faith.
