Right now, Congress is negotiating a spending bill to re-open the federal government. We need a spending bill that reflects our values of welcome, dignity, and protection for the most vulnerable. It is critical that our elected leaders hear that their constituents urge them to enact a permanent, legislative solution that offers a pathway to citizenship for dreamers. The sense of urgency is profound: Every day, 122 dreamers lose their protection from deportation, and currently more than 16,000 have lost status.
