A lack of investment in our care economy has left seniors and people with disabilities without the ability to remain in their homes and stay active in their communities. Meanwhile, care workers have long been underpaid―disproportionately impacting women and people of color.

We have an opportunity to finally address this urgent matter.

Here’s the problem: large coverage gaps currently exist in home care for seniors and people with disabilities, with each state setting a cap on the number of individuals who can receive these critical services.

Rep. Debbie Dingell and Sen. Bob Casey have introduced the Better Care Better Jobs Act to strengthen and expand access to Medicaid home- and community-based care services, and provide better pay and benefits for the direct care workforce. This legislation will boost Medicaid funding for home- and community-based care services.

Together, we must raise our voices and demand Congress act!
