President Donald Trump and Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos have launched their big push for private school vouchers in earnest. Just days after Trump touted “school choice” in his speech before Congress, he and DeVos took a trip to a religious school in Florida that has many voucher students.
Remember, Trump has proposed a $20 billion federal plan for “school choice,” including vouchers. And DeVos told Congress she’d make a big push for schemes that divert tax dollars from public schools.
But they can’t do this by themselves. Congress and legislators across the country will play a key role. That’s where you come in – act now at http://p2a.co/zw3A0V2 to stand up for public education – and tell your representatives that they must not go along with Trump’s and DeVos’ plan.
Trump and DeVos are ignoring data, statistics, and facts in their quest for vouchers. Several studies have just come out proving what many previous studies have already shown: voucher schemes simply don’t work.
Please take a moment to contact your U.S. Senators, U.S. Representative, and state representatives today and tell them to oppose any bills that would authorize private school vouchers.
