From the Alaska Wilderness League (http://www.alaskawild.org):

When it comes to public lands, an attack on one such place is an attack on all the places we hold so dearly, and one extraordinary place is in need of your help today:  The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. That’s why we’re writing to you today, asking you to take a stand against efforts to drill for oil and gas on the Refuge’s Coastal Plain.

On December 28th, the Department of the Interior (DOI) initiated the second phase of the environmental review process for oil and gas leasing on the Coastal Plain of the Arctic Refuge, and they are now accepting public comments for 45 days on the proposed leasing program. The information gathered during this comment period will inform the environmental review of the proposed lease sale, and it is essential that we build a strong public record of opposition to any and all development, as these activities are inconsistent with the wild nature of this unique portion of America’s Arctic.

In order to make your voice heard in this process, you can submit a comment to the Bureau of Land Management on why you believe this place should be protected for generations to come.

If you represent an organization and would like to join other organizations and businesses in opposing this oil and gas development, please consider signing on to this letter: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSckb2qTVErP3-9IdpxxG3RcEcjokR6wMVU1f8HFvPvEEu5ESA/viewform

If you would like to submit a comment as an individual you may do so by signing our petition here: https://act.alaskawild.org/sign/refuge-partner-DEIS/.

You can also submit comments directly. Find sample comments here in this doc.

We hope you will agree that places like the Arctic Refuge must be protected for future generations to enjoy, and appreciate your consideration in standing up for this wild place.
