The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) manages 245 million surface acres and 700 million subsurface acres of public land on our behalf–this includes tens of thousands of acres in Pennsylvania’s Allegheny National Forest.
BLM finalized important standards to address climate change last year. This rule would put an end to methane pollution waste on public lands.
THIS WEEK, the Senate is going to try to let oil and gas companies off the hook with a Congressional Review Act (CRA) vote. This could permanently restrict our ability to limit methane pollution from public lands.
These protections are cost-effective, common sense standards that keep our communities healthier, reduce our nation’s contribution to climate change, and waste fewer national resources–and fewer tax dollars.
We deserve better – senators cannot be allowed to sell out the health of their constituents to the oil and gas industry.
Call your senators and make sure they are on the right side of this vote.
- Senator Bob Casey, Jr. – (202) 224-6324
- Senator Pat Toomey – (202) 224-4254
Tell your Senators:
Give them your name, your zipcode, and tell them “We want you to oppose the CRA (Congressional Review Act) that would block action by BLM to protect us and the environment from harmful methane pollution.”
