November 2 was Latina Equal Pay Day—the day we recognize how far Latina workers still have to go to earn anything approaching the pay of non-Hispanic white men. EPI finds that Latina workers are paid on average 67 cents on the dollar relative to white men—even after controlling for education, years of experience, and location. A college-degreed Latina worker makes only 63 cents for every dollar a white male college-degree holder makes—and, even after she goes back to school for an advanced degree, she’ll still be making nearly 20 percent less than that same white male worker with a bachelor’s degree.
