From the Clean Air Council (http://www.cleanair.org/):
Are you concerned about the state of your air quality? Do you feel powerless in the face of industries that pollute and are moving into your neighborhood? Then consider being a leader of Clean Air Council’s Southwest PA Neighbors for Clean Air initiative! Sign up at http://salsa4.salsalabs.com/o/51176/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=23536.
Clean Air Council is launching an initiative called Southwest PA Neighbors for Clean Air to establish at least 100 groups of about 10 people to advocate for clean air. The goal of these groups is to build community, create local experts on air quality issues, and mobilize people with one strategic action per month. Our hope is that we will educate 1,000 new volunteer leaders and build capacity to effectively address air pollution concerns in Southwest PA.
This initiative can only work with your participation, so we urge you to step up and get involved.
If you can answer yes to the following questions, then you have what it takes to become a leader:
- Do you have about 4 hours per month to dedicate to getting trained on specific air quality issues, organizing a group, and educating group members about the issues?
- Do you know 10 people who would join you for 2 hours per month for 9 months to learn about air quality issues?
- Are you willing to host 10 people in your home or another easily accessible meeting space, such as a coffee shop or the public library?
