From the Earth Day Network (https://www.earthday.org):
“Without a well-designed and tailor-made management strategy for end-of-life plastics, humans are conducting a singular uncontrolled experiment on a global scale, in which billions of metric tons of material will accumulate across all major terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems on the planet. — Fox News
From poisoning and destroying marine life to disrupting human health and hormones, from littering our beaches and landscapes to clogging our waste streams and landfills, the plastic pollution is now threatening the survival of our planet and everything on it. In response, Earth Day Network has launched a campaign to mobilize citizens to End Plastic Pollution.
The problem seems so vast – seas of discarded plastic floating in the open ocean, bottles, cups and straws clogging landfills and killing wildlife. But as Earth Day has proven since our founding in 1970, individual actions lead to major positive results.
