Voting is our civic duty!
- General Election voter registration deadline is October 11th
- The General Election is November 8th. Polls are open from 7:00AM – 8:00PM—PLEASE VOTE!
- People who have a felony conviction are allowed to vote. Voting rights are automatically restored upon release from incarceration (i.e., not in prison)
- First time voters in precincts must show identification. This is the only time ID is required
- Voters who are absent from their municipality during the time the polls are open because of work or vacation can vote an absentee ballot. Voters who cannot attend their polling place because of illness or disability can vote an absentee ballot. Your county board of elections must receive your voted absentee ballot by 5:00PM on the Friday before the election
- Voters who registered to vote in Pennsylvania and moved within Pennsylvania should change their address either online or by using a paper registration form
- One more thing: voters have the right to assistance when voting. You have the right to assistance at the polling place, including foreign language or literacy assistance. You may select any person to assist you as long as the person is not your “employer, union representative, or the Judge of Elections.” The assistant is permitted to join you in the polling booth. Voters do not need to be designated in the poll book as “assistance permitted” to receive help. A person who wants assistance will be asked to sign an Assistance Declaration at the precinct, unless the poll book already indicates “assistance permitted.” A voter whose name is not in the poll book can still vote if that person is correctly registered to vote in that precinct.
- You can register to vote online at https://www.pavoterservices.state.pa.us/pages/VoterRegistrationApplication.aspx or by more traditional means—county offices, voter registration drives, etc.
