From the Pennsylvania Forest Coalition (http://www.paforestcoalition.org/):
Pennsylvania is one the few states to recognize environmental quality as a basic civil right, much like the U.S. Constitution protects the right to free speech and freedom of religion.
We see organizations using Article 1, Section 27 of our State Constitution into the next century to ensure that our rights to clean air and water are fully protected.
This excellent video will allow you to understand the Constitutional Amendment brokered by Senator Franklin Kury 45 years before PEDF’s John Childe won the case in our State Supreme Court on June 20, 2017.
It also might give you some new ideas about what to say to your politicians, because every elected official in Pennsylvania swears to uphold Article 1, Section 27 in their oath of office.
