FAMM Testifies Against PA Reinstating Mandatory Minimums

While Louisiana and Massachusetts are dispatching with failed approaches to sentencing, some in the Pennsylvania legislature hope to reinstate mandatory sentences.The Senate is debating whether it should pass HB 741, legislation approved by the House in April. Last month FAMM testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee at a hearing about this legislation. In the testimony, FAMM told senators that wasting money locking up low-level offenders would leave them with fewer resources to spend on more important anti-crime initiatives.
