From the National Religious Campaign Against Torture (http://www.nrcat.org):
As you look ahead to planning for fall educational programming for your religious community, NRCAT is pleased to offer several resources to energize your learning and activism.
NRCAT’s newest film, Torture in Our Name, is a compelling 35-minute documentary for faith audiences available to livestream or download here. The film traces the stories of campaigns in Louisiana, New Jersey, and New York in which survivors of solitary and their allies have mounted successful legislative campaigns in their respective states, with New Jersey and New York being the first two states in the nation to legislate bans on long-term isolated confinement.
NRCAT has two film trailers available for promoting Torture in Our Name: a 2-minute trailer for the film is available here and here’s a shorter 40-second trailer. To accompany your screening of the film, NRCAT’s comprehensive Discussion Guide is available for download here, as well as a Promotions Kit including the film logo and descriptions.
After screening the film, be sure to invite members of your religious community to add their names to NRCAT’s National Pledge: A Moral Call to End the Torture of Solitary Confinement.
