At a recent Holy Season vigil we shared our faith traditions and called for justice for immigrant families that had been ripped apart. We were reminded that our faith compels us to fight against injustice and to lead with love. We applaud the Biden Administration for their “Citizenship for All” proposal but know that this is just a start to how we wash away the stain that harmful immigration policies have placed on our country.

We cannot rest until every child is reunited with their family and every immigrant is free from deportation and detention centers. We must push for systemic changes to end family separation and make sure resources are available for trauma-informed mental health services. We must demand that all immigrants, no matter their background, are provided safe pathways toward citizenship.
Liberation means providing our immigrant neighbors with the opportunity to thrive and that starts with reuniting families.
