From Faith in Public Life (http://www.faithinpubliclife.org):
As people of faith, we know how important it is that our laws reflect that all people have dignity. Discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity is unjust and immoral. Last week, the House of Representatives introduced the Equality Act which will ensure equal protection for all of us no matter who we are or who we love.
Please join us in pushing for the Equality Act to become law by adding your name to our petition of support to Congress at http://fpl.actionkit.com/sign/equality-act-petition-2021/.
It’s critical that people of faith make clear to Congress that we support LGBTQ equality because of our faith, not despite it.
There are still 29 states without laws that protect the LGBTQ community from discrimination. Someone’s safety and security should not depend on which state they choose to make their home. That’s why we need the Equality Act to ensure equal protection for all.
Can you add your name to our petition now?
Our nation’s laws must uphold our values of loving and caring for our LGBTQ neighbors as ourselves. As people of faith, we have an obligation to be part of healing the world.
