Tell Congress to Protect Northwest Salmon

From the Endangered Species Coalition (https://www.endangered.org/):

Time is running out for Northwest salmon.

Endangered Snake River salmon are on the brink of extinction because of four lower Snake River dams. If we don’t act quickly to remove the dams and replace their services, it will be too late for this iconic Northwest species and the Northwest communities who depend on them.

Northwest tribes and Indigenous people are being denied their right to salmon, which was promised to them in federal treaties and other legally binding agreements. The Biden administration must honor their treaties, and removing the dams is a first step to right this historical injustice.

Thanks to all who have taken action, we have already caught The White House’s attention. Now, we need your help to demand elected leaders in the Northwest and the Biden administration take urgent action to prevent salmon extinction by removing the lower Snake River dams and replacing the services they provide.

We currently have the opportunity to lead the largest salmon recovery in history, while upholding the rights of tribes and boosting economies. We can do with a comprehensive plan to remove the lower Snake River dams and replace the services they provide with new clean energy and transportation.

This won’t happen without your support. Take Action Now at https://actionnetwork.org/letters/act-now-breach-the-dams-and-stop-salmon-extinction-2: Call on your leaders to take action and ensure that the dams are breached by delivering a comprehensive plan to replace their services.
