Clearfield, Pennsylvania’s County Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution urging “our federal representatives to … oppose efforts to cut nutrition programs funded in the Farm Bill,” including SNAP. The Coalition Against Hunger, an anti-hunger group based in Philadelphia, notes that 13,004 of the 80,596, or 16 percent, of Clearfield County residents receive SNAP, including children, disabled adults, seniors, and veterans, and 75 percent of the county’s adults receiving SNAP are employed.
