From Families USA (http://www.familiesusa.org):
Today, families around the country whose children rely on the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) can breathe a sigh of relief. Congress passed 6 years of CHIP funding as part of a package that ended the government shutdown.
Your persistent efforts to elevate the needs of children and families have paid off. While sorely overdue, this is a welcome policy extension. Today, families wake up knowing that CHIP will be there to help keep their children healthy; that uncertainty has ended.

Spread the word that CHIP programs are funded and encourage families to enroll!
In recent months, many families already received notice that their CHIP coverage could end. As health care advocates, it is our job to spread the word that CHIP is open for business! Use the media, social media, and your networks to get the word out that CHIP is here to stay. Enrollment is open all year for children and pregnant people.
The clock is ticking for Congress to resolve other important health care issues.
While Congress provided relief on CHIP, it left behind the Dreamers, who have called America home for as long as they can remember but live in fear of deportation and separation from their loved ones. It also failed to act on funding for community health centers, the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program, and many other vital programs. Congress must do its job on behalf of constituents and address these critical priorities that still hang in the balance.
Thank you for your work to protect families.
