From the PICO National Network (http://www.piconetwork.org):
We have one last chance to stop the Republican tax bill. Congressional conferees are meeting this week to negotiate the final deal on a tax package that cuts health care benefits and raises taxes on working families to pay for a giant tax giveaway to Wall Street and the richest 1 percent of households.
The bill is so bad, Republican leaders are scrambling to reach a final version—but no matter what deals they cut, this bill can’t be fixed.
Last week, after faith leaders engaged in a sit-in at her office in Portland, Maine, Sen. Susan Collins—a key swing vote for the Republicans—said she may reverse her position and oppose the bill. This fight isn’t over—we can still win.
We need 24 GOP Representatives to vote against this bill next week. Please call your Representative right now at (855) 999-8503. Find your Representative at http://stoptrumptaxcuts.com/action/. We also need at least two Senators to vote against it.

This bill repeals a key part of the Affordable Care Act, leaving 13 million more people uninsured and raising premiums by 10 percent for millions. It forces an automatic $25 billion cut in Medicare for seniors next year, and slashes another $1.5 trillion from Medicaid and Medicare to pay for tax breaks to big drug companies, banks, and the richest people in America.
The $1 trillion increase in the deficit created by the tax bill gives those who wish to do so the perfect reason to gut Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, food stamps, education, and hundreds of other critical programs next year under the guise of “welfare reform.”
If we stop them now, we derail their plans for 2018 too.
Please call your representative right now: (855) 999-8503. Then call our senators. You can make a difference.
