Call to Put an END to Surprise Medical Bills—June 18 Day of Action

We’re in the midst of a public health crisis, and the last thing people should have to worry about is whether they can afford to see their doctor. Meanwhile, 1 in 3 Pennsylvanians receives a surprise medical bill each year. These surprise bills can make people delay or avoid care, which makes all of us less safe.

Legislators in PA have already passed a bipartisan bill – HB 1862 – out of committee that would ban surprise medical bills, but it still hasn’t been brought to the floor for a vote. The PA House of Representatives has only a few session days left this month, which means that if they don’t take action now, Pennsylvanians will have to wait until fall.  Click here to learn more about surprise medical bills and HB1862 from our partner PHAN.
