From Keystone Research Center/Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center (https://krc-pbpc.org/):
Some legislators in Harrisburg are proposing adding the “Taxpayer Bill of Rights” (TABOR) to the Pennsylvania Constitution. Use our action- Stop this now at https://www.congressweb.com/PBPC/7/!
We’ve warned about this dangerous amendment before. TABOR would severely limit the growth of government spending in PA by chaining it to the combination of population growth and inflation. if passed, it would put the state budget in a constitutional stranglehold that makes it impossible for the state to EVER fully fund education, higher education, human services, infrastructure or environmental and climate polices.
This amendment is likely to be brought to the floor of the House of Representatives for a vote WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13th. Governor Wolf cannot stop it with his veto pen.
TABOR would get in the way of anything we want our currently underfunded state government to do. And it would undermine our democracy, preventing the people of the state from deciding, through our vote for legislators, how the state spends our money.
Please use this tool to contact your state legislators today— we’ve made it easy to send an email, make a phone call, and recruit your friends to take action!

Please vote against TABOR. Don’t strangle our ability to react to emergency bills for education or natural disasters causing slow growth in an area. Thanks
