From Clean Water Action (http://www.cleanwateraction.org/):
Right now, Congress is working on the next federal budget and we have a chance to secure full and permanent funding for LWCF. But our representatives are saying they haven’t heard from enough people that public lands are important to them. Can you help out by contacting your representatives in Congress and telling them that you value public lands at http://org.salsalabs.com/o/2155/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=23836?
LWCF funds everything from neighborhood playgrounds to national parks, and these public lands are part of our shared heritage. Tell Congress to include full and permanent funding for LWCF in the federal budget.
We won a landmark victory earlier this year when Congress passed legislation permanently authorizing LWCF. Now we need to finish the fight by passing full and permanent funding for LWCF. Over the life of the program, over half of the funds have been diverted to other purposes – upwards of $22 billion – and that practice can continue until Congress passes full and permanent funding to go along with the permanent authorization.
A bipartisan group of Senators is leading the fight for full and permanent funding of LWCF. Help them win by telling your representative that you support full and permanent funding for LWCF and that you are calling on them to fight for it.
