Join the 2021 Ration Challenge—June 13-19

From Church World Service (http://www.churchworldservice.org):

Thank you for being a caring and compassionate advocate for refugees. You know the importance of sharing your resources – whether that’s by amplifying refugee voices or with a donation – you take action.

Your passion and dedication to help refugees is needed now more than ever as the 10th anniversary of the start of the conflict in Syria occurred this month. Since the conflict began in 2011, more than half a million people have lost their lives, and millions more need humanitarian assistance. These are mothers and fathers struggling to feed their children; sons and daughters missing out on an education; people dying for lack of basic medical care that we take for granted.

And it’s not only Syria. Around the world there are now nearly 80 million people who have been forced to flee their homes because of conflict or disaster — the most on record.

On top of all of this, refugees are also dealing with the ongoing effects of the coronavirus. The impact of lockdowns, loss of livelihoods and ongoing disruption to aid makes it even more difficult for refugees to survive.

That’s why we are relaunching the Ration Challenge—a global campaign that raises money and awareness for refugees.

This year, an estimated 2,100 Americans will sign up, ask their friends to sponsor them and eat like a refugee for one week (June 13–19). The funds raised will support families displaced by war, persecution and disaster, help those devastated by the impacts of COVID-19, and provide food and medicine for Syrian families living in refugee camps in Jordan.

Will you join and take the Ration Challenge this year?

Registration for the 2021 Ration Challenge is now open! Click here to be among the first to sign up for this year’s challenge.

This challenge is a chance for us to come together, take action, raise awareness in our communities and show refugees that they are not alone.
