We Can Afford to Do Better on Human Services and Education

From the Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center (http://www.pennbpc.org):

With state revenues up, the House and Senate have proposed a 27.65 billion dollar budget that restores funds to the Human Services Development Fund and our schools and colleges.

The governor has rejected this proposal. Corbett is calling for $233 million more in painful cuts to our children’s schools, to people with disabilities, to victims of domestic violence, to hardworking Pennsylvanians who lost their jobs in the recession.

We can afford to do better.

Call the Governor Today!

Tell him we can afford to do better than his budget proposal. Ask him to spend $27.65 billion – as the legislature has proposed – to support our children, people with disabilities, victims of domestic violence, hardworking Pennsylvanians who lost their jobs in the recession, and our youth who need a shot at a future.

Governor Corbett’s number is (717) 787-2500.

You can e-mail the governor at http://org2.democracyinaction.org/o/6751/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=10940 (includes a sample email message).
