Governor Tom Corbett can’t escape the call to close corporate tax loopholes in Pennsylvania — even before the business-friendly audience of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.

As the Philadelphia Daily News reports (, more than 100 people on Tuesday protested tax loopholes and state cuts to schools outside a Chamber-sponsored question-and-answer session with the Governor. Inside, moderator Marty Moss-Coane, host of WHYY’s Radio Times, twice asked Governor Corbett about corporate tax loopholes that cost the state an estimated $500 million per year. Both times, the Governor dodged the question. Clearly we are making a difference in this debate.

Every day, Pennsylvanians are asking why the Governor is choosing to cut funding for schools and investments in our communities, while giving tax dodgers a free pass?

Send a message. Sign our better budget petition today at Tell Governor Corbett and state lawmakers that Pennsylvania cannot afford to ignore tax loopholes or enact a major business tax cut next year.
