Tell Congress to Support Medicaid Expansion Amendment in Reconciliation Bill

From the Coalition on Human Needs (http://www.chn.org):

The American Rescue Plan created incentives for 14 states to join the rest of the United States and expand Medicaid immediately, covering millions of Americans, creating more than 1 million jobs, and adding more than $350 billion to the economy over the next three years.

Conservatives in Congress are doing whatever they can to stop this from happening. But we can expand Medicaid without them.

Here’s how: Congress can close the Medicaid coverage gap through budget reconciliation, which requires a simple majority vote. Or, we can get people to act on the local level.

We must expand Medicaid coverage for millions of Americans. Tell Congress at https://actionnetwork.org/forms/sign-on-support-medicaid-expansion-now: Include Senator Raphael Warnock’s Medicaid expansion amendment in the reconciliation bill.

States can also act independently to enact Medicaid expansion. In fact, Missouri and Oklahoma have already taken steps toward accomplishing this through successful ballot referendums, even as both states’ legislatures are actively working to block its implementation.

By expanding Medicaid in the 12 remaining states, more than 2.2 million Americans would obtain the health coverage they desperately need.1

Sign now to demand leaders in Congress and locally, in the 12 remaining states, expand Medicaid to more than 2.2 million Americans.

Enough is enough! Americans, regardless of what state they live in, deserve to have health care. Together, we must act to expand Medicaid for millions of Americans. Thank you for all you do to fight for families, marginalized people and communities.
